Float Away on FitGlow’s Cloud Comfort Cream with Alli Chung
This post comes from customer and actor Alli Chung. You might recognize her from her role as Detective Taylor Kim on CBC’s Coroner. Aside from acting, Alli has spent many hours venturing down the road of beauty and natural beauty healthcare. As someone who prefers not to wear heavy makeup, she’s always searching for new products that make you feel good and benefit your skin. An advocate for the environment and glowing skin, she’s very interested in sharing anything she learns about beauty benefits, especially natural ones. Alli cares deeply about our planet, our community and our skin.
Alli recently tried FitGlow Beauty's Cloud Comfort Cream and we asked her to share her thoughts on it with us – and you!
I use this cream morning and night, and sometimes topped-up in the day as my skin can get very dry. I use about 2-3 pumps each time, as my skin has been quite dry lately, so I think I’ve been using more than would be necessary if you didn’t need as much moisture. The consistency is light and not heavy, so people looking for more mega hydration might want to just use it as a day cream, and use something heavier at night. When using at night, I partner it with a Hyaluronic Acid serum to lock in extra moisture. You could also use any face serum or oil combined with it at night for that extra moisture boost.
I love this product’s ingredients, packaging and light fragrance. Let me elaborate. Let’s start with the ingredients. Organic Cloudberry seed oil/extract, one might think sounds a bit airy-fairy, but the facts will impress you. This Nordic ingredient packs a serious nutrient punch. Surviving in temperatures as cold as -40 degrees, this resilient fruit grabs as much as it can during its light phase. Found deep in the Nordic marshes and wet meadows, cloudberries grow in damp and freezing conditions. During the summer months of 24-hour sunlight, the cloudberry flourishes and thrives. The tart orange super fruit boasts an impressive amount of vitamins and antioxidants, including 100% of your vitamin C intake! 100 grams of cloudberries pack twice as much vitamin C, as 100 grams of oranges. Apart from being a great source of skin-brightening vitamin C, cloudberry also contains beta carotene (free radical fighting) and is a rich source in vitamin A (skin-firming).
If that isn’t enough, it has also been known to help improve blood circulation. It’s no wonder Nordic women have such glowing complexions!
There are other star ingredients, such as Meadow Foam oil, which is known for
balancing the skin’s natural sebum production to resolve excessively dry
or oily skin. Meadowfoam oil also contains several powerful anti-inflammatory
and antioxidant substances such and vitamin E. The high Tocopherol (vitamin
E) content tackles degeneration and ageing of the skin. Great for mature
skin, and early anti-ageing.
Right alongside Meadowfoam is Chia Seed Extract, which is known to
help strengthen the skin barrier. Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, which chia seed oil is chock full of, can prevent weakening the elasticity of the skin by reinforcing the epidermis. And who doesn’t want a strong epidermis? Its anti-inflammatory powers may also help reduce UV damage. Win’s all around!
With all of this information, comes original and efficient packaging. The bottle is
quite light for its size so it’s easy to travel with. I love that the bottle is a pump, so
you don’t have to dip your fingers or a spatula into the product. The pump allows
you to decide how much you want to come out. The lighter you press, the less comes out and if you pump all the way down the maximum will dispense. The pump also keeps the ingredients concealed so nothing oxidizes, meaning your product will work for you longer without losing its superpowers! How will I know how much is left, you might ask? Fit Glow has conveniently left an opening alongside the sticker so you can see the inside of the bottle and gauge how much is left. Bonus – I love the colour and shine on the bottle – it makes me feel like a natural queen!
The scent is light, with notes of (you guessed it) berries. But overall, it’s a fresh and
clean scent. The consistency is light and absorbs into the skin quickly leaving no
shine. Great to use under makeup. I would suggest using it with a serum or oil at
night for a heavier moisture mask.
Fit Glow’s products are organic, cruelty-free, and gluten-free.
The fact that the ingredients are plant-based is just the cherry on the cupcake to this delightful Canadian product.
It’s a bit on the pricey side but, what can I say? The packaging and product don’t
disappoint. From the health benefits to the pleasant and fresh smell of the product,
you’ll feel like you’re floating on a cloud. I’m definitely feeling fit and glowing!
