Beat the Dry Season With Your New Fave Body Oil
Welcome to the dry season: The weather is cold, the days are shockingly short, and our summer glow has faded. We’re once again fighting a battle against dry skin, but indoor heating and the outdoor climate can’t win with our arsenal of body oils. Smooth, hydrated skin is possible in Winter in Canada.
A couple of tips to keep skin hydrated and smooth:
- If you find your skin is itchy or uncomfortable - it’s most likely dry. Shins and arms tend to show first, but you might also be feeling it on your bum, back, and shoulders.
- Make sure you’re exfoliating once or twice a week. You can use a scrub or scrub gloves, or a knobby washcloth, just make sure you’re cleansing your skin of dead and dry cells. (Careful not to overdo it here - sometimes dry skin can feel good being scrubbed, but too much or too rough can harm delicate skin).
- Apply oil all day long. After you shower, apply oil while skin is still damp, and then again before bed to keep hydrated while you sleep. If you notice your skin feels uncomfortable throughout the day, spot treat. We have great hand creams you’ll want to check out.
- Consider a humidifier to keep a little moisture in the air. This can definitely help in the night while you sleep to keep you from feeling like a dusty mummy when you wake up.
