Super Juice: A Shot for Your Immune System

The holiday season is getting into gear and the temperature is dropping. It's the right time to prep your immune system to stay in tip top shape throughout the season. We created a yummy, bright and boosting shot to take you from stressed to blessed. Read the benefits of what's in it and follow the easy recipe below to get your shot of immunity.

Turmeric
Turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory known for it's ability to cross the blood brain barrier which makes it the perfect natural remedy for headaches and aches and pains.

Ginger
The spicy zing of ginger provides delicious flavour and is known to reduce inflammation. Ginger is an antioxidant and antimicrobial.

Honey
Raw honey offers an energy boost and is antiviral, anti-inflammatory. Source a local variety and make sure it doesn't contain pesticides. says raw on the label which means it hasn't been processed.

Lemon
Lemon is high in Vitamin C, is anti-bacterial, helps with indigestion and offers an instant wake-me up flavour. Drinking it with honey can help to clear skin too!

Ingredients
1 teaspoon honey (preferably raw and organic)
1/2 teaspoon fresh turmeric, grated or 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
Juice of 1/2 a lemon

Tools
Hand juicer
Mircoplane or grater
Small bowl
1 chopstick
Shot glass

1/ In a small bowl or mixing glass, add honey and turmeric, mix until combined.
2/ Add grated ginger and mix well.
3/ add a splash of the lemon juice and stir until well mixed, then add remaining lemon juice.
4/ Pour into shot glass, making sure nothing is left in the bottom of bowl.

Drink straight. Enjoy!
