5 Winter Warriors Under $50
It’s the Cold Season! Or, as we sometimes refer to it, the “Why Is My Skin So Red And Dry? Season". (Pairs well with the head in hands emoji). Fear not, the lack of moisture in the air and the biting temps are no match when you prepped and prepared.
First things first, check your environment. If you’re inside a lot the heating will dry out skin, and if you’re outside the frigid air will do the same. So when indoors, keep a humidifier nearby to add back some moisture to the air, and when heading outside, make sure you’re covered up (including hands, neck, ankles). Also apply extra barriers on exposed skin like a heavy lip balm, a couple of layers of body lotion, and a spot treatment balm for extra dry spots, and of course, drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
In addition to those basics, here are 5 Winter Warriors Under $50 a pop.
Consonant Skincare Ultra Firming Organic Eye Cream, $36
When skin is dry and dehydrated, it can use all the extra help it can get. This gentle and effective eye cream diminishes the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and also works to eliminate the look of dark circles.
Meow Meow Tweet Tweet Body Oil, $36
Gentle, moisturizing, and non-greasy hydration is just what your body is craving this season. This lightweight body oil packs a punch with sunflower, hemp, and jojoba oils. Pick your fave scent: lavender lemongrass or sweet orange neroli.
SW Basics Cream, $39
An extremely rich cream, this simple formula contains only three ingredients. At the top is shea butter, then extra-virgin coconut oil and extra-virgin olive oil. A trio of super-hydrators ready for the coldest days. (Want proof? Read Alli Chung's review here!)
Studio 78 We Take Some Fresh Air Primer, $39
It’s tempting to forgo foundation when skin is dry and flaky, but instead, prime skin first. This creamy base prepares skin for make-up and contains a subtle shimmer to give your face an instant glow. It’s also enriched with organic clary sage and sweet almond oil to tone and smooth skin.
Apoterra Skincare Rose Nourishing Serum, $47
Rosehip, pomegranate, and evening primrose nourish cells and prevent moisture loss, which is exactly what we’re looking for this time of year. Added plus: they also stimulate collagen production and promote glowing skin. We’ll take it!
